Gilberto Romero Bio
A fourth generation Santa Fean, Gilberto
Romero was brought up with Hispanic values and spent most of his
childhood time with his family enjoying all that the outdoor environment
of New Mexico has to offer. Knowing at a very young age he wanted to
become an artist, Gilberto realized that his steady hands and good eye
would shape his life.
By the age of 23, Gilberto had spent
many hours working with established artists and came to realize how fortunate he
is to be in Santa Fe with such talent. Gilberto found it easy to express himself
in fabricated and bronze sculpture as well as custom-made fabricated and iron
pieces commissioned for specific placement, such as entrance gates.
"Mother Nature and a close Hispanic
family is reflected in my artwork,” says Romero. “My sculptures are fabricated
because it allows me to produce a cleaner line than cast bronzes. The patinas
are applied by my wife, Davery. "I look forward to a life of making art
and with a beautiful and supportive family by my side, I see no lack of
inspiration," reflects
Gilberto.
Pippin Meikle Fine Art is pleased to represent Gilberto Romero, whose sculptures and commissioned metal works are collected nationally.
